June 29, 2011 I’ve been using this car seat with my now 3 year-old since he was about 3 months old. Whilethe rear-facing vs. forward-facing directions are slightly more involved, the extra 5 minutes oninstallation made me feel 100% comfortable with this product.
All of the “cons” become “pros” in my honest opinion — for example, it takes longer to initiallyinstall (properly adjust for your vehicle etc) than some of the other car seats. However, onceyou’ve customized the adjustment, this seat stays perfectly in place.
Next – the adjustment for the latch system is a little stiff. However, this also means that onceit’s adjusted, it’s not going to budge.
Unless you’re changing vehicles every day, these are minor details. Also – these adjustmentsare easy to do and hardly take any time once you have learned the mechanics of the seat. It’snot rocket science – open the manual and the seemingly obvious steps become even easier =) I would buy this car seat again in a heart beat. The mesh pockets come in handy. When mykiddo was small we used them to hold Nuks. Now we put packets of fruit snacks, toys, or sippycups in them. Loved this seat- so stylish! I had purchased the Eddie bauer travel system for our baby andloved it! My son quickly outgrew the infant seat- So I had searched for an eddie bauer seat thatwould last till he was out of them- This one is great- easy to install- My son loves it, so comfy!easy to clean, very adjustable to each childs needs, head rest is adjustable, as well as thestraps, tether system is easy to adjust if needed to remove the seat. Great car seat, fits behind Jeep Grand Cherokee Seat March 30, 2012 We have an Alpha omega Elite that I LOVE but getting another was not an option because wecannot put the new seat rear facing in the middle. This fits behind both the driver seat andpassenger seat rear facing which was the biggest problem I had with all the other car seats Ilooked at. We have a 2 year old and a newborn so I needed it to go behind the seat not in themiddle. It is no wider back to front rear facing than my baby trend infant seat. I do have to put anoodle under it but i have had to do that will all seats since the Jeep seat is angled more, this isnot an issue. Easy to install, just like all other car seats. Read the directions, if it does nottighten get in the seat and keep pulling. Nice material like all other Dorel Group Seats. I tried it with latch and seatbelt. I would not hesitate to put my baby in this seat, my older son is almost 3ft tall and could sit in here with no problems as well. Only “problem” I see is how to adjust theheadrest, (that is why 4 stars) it is easy if the seat is not in the car. I suppose the idea is thatyou adjust that with the straps so really it is not bad just not as easy as my other one. The AlphaOmega (by Dorel) has a fantastic adjusting system, they shoud put that on all their seats! Best baby investment ever. January 30, 2012 I bought this car seat in 2007 when my middle son was born. He used it up until he was bigenough to graduate to a booster seat and then I handed it down to my youngest son. I used itup until 2011 when I downsized to a smaller vehicle.
VERY SECURE!: it latches in using the LPA System (Lower Point Anchoring System) which isstandard in most new vehicles.
Easily adjustable: When properly positioned, it is easy to adjust the shoulder straps.
Never have to replace it!: If I didn’t have to downsize to a small car and thus, smaller car seats,I would never have to replace this one.
Once it’s in, it’s in!: Not for a family who has to move car seats car-to-car often. I only tookmine out when I had to clean it.
Not for a large family in a small car: I have three sons, and a small car, so this seat took up a lotof elbow room. Loved it. It fit perfect in the back of my Civic, and my daughter seemed very comfortable in it.
Only reason I’m not using it now is because she outgrew it. I would buy another one in aheartbeat if I needed one!
