ACLEARA PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Minimize sun exposure, use of self-tanning products, sunless tanning beds and spray tans before treatment.
If you have a history of recurrent cold sores/Herpes 1 or 2, please pre-treat with an anti-viral medication. If you need one, Dr. Espinoza will prescribe Valtrex 1mg for this treatment, please call 215-862-6100 WAXING PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
● To help alleviate any possible pain, you can take non-aspirin products or ibuprofen at least 30-40 minutes prior to treatment.
● Regarding body waxing, please allow 2 weeks of growth before your treatment. The length of your hair should be 1⁄4”. This wil help you get a cleaner wax. If the hair is shorter than that, the wax may not be able to grasp onto the hair to remove it.
● If you have a menstrual cycle, please try to schedule your appointment within the fi rst two weeks after the end. This will help to decrease sensitivity to the area that is being waxed.
● Limit sun exposure, no tanning booth or spray tan prior to any waxing procedure.
● To prevent burning or tearing of the skin, discontinue any product that exfoliates or dries the skin at least one week prior to being treated. Some products that confl ict with waxing are: Accutane, Differin, Retin-A/ retinols and glycolic or salicylic acids.
LASER HAIR REDUCTION PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
● If you require topical anesthetic, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment.
● Area to be treated should be free of cosmetics.
● No exfoliants or glycolic acids for at least 1 week prior to treatment, in area to be treated.
● If prone to Herpes 1 or 2, please ask your primary care physician or Dr. Espinoza to prescribe Valtrex 1mg daily to start 2 days prior to your procedure and continue 2 days afterward.
● If you have a Herpes lesion in the area to be treated, please allow 4 weeks post before your procedure.
● Please cancel treatments if you fi nd out you are pregnant.
● Patients to be treated should not take Accutane within six months of treatment.
● Review both prescription and non-prescription medications that may be photosensitive.
Treatment Interval for HAIR REMOVAL:
● FACE= about 4 weeks between treatments.
● BODY= About 6-8 weeks between treatments.
*5-8 sessions generally required depending on individual.
For HAIR REMOVAL:
● No tweezing, waxing, threading or electrolysis for 4 weeks prior to treatment ( you may shave during this time).
● Please shave within 24 hours of your procedure, preferably the night before or the day of your treatment to
avoid overheating of hair and to prevent superfi cial burns to the skin.
● A broad-spectrum sun block of SPF 30 or greater should be applied to the areas to be treated whenever exposed to the sun. Tanned skin cannot be treated as aggressively or effectively as your baseline skin color.
PRE-TREATMENT INSTUCTIONS FOR PHOTOFACIALS
● Area to be treated should be free of cosmetics and self-tanning cream.Minimize sun exposure and spray tans before treatment. If you are currently tanned, your treatment may need to be postponed.
● SPF 30+, hat and sunglasses are essential before and after treatment.
● Stop use of retinols, tetracycline or myosin 3 days prior to treatment.
● Men should be closely shaven before treatment.
● Please notify Dr. Espinoza of any new skin cancers or photo-sensitive medications you are presently taking.

● Generalized Rosacea-2-4 wk intervals *4-6 sessions generally required
● Vessels on face 1-2 wk intervals *2-3 sessions generally required
For PHOTOFACIAL:
● No sun bathing or tanning beds for 4 weeks prior to treatment
● No self tanning creams for 2 weeks prior to treatme
